Montage sequence: The Big Bang
INT APARTMENT
Fade in from black: CU: Looking through a glass out a window.
Someone drops Ice in the glass and pours bourbon in it.
Zoom out to a close up of the glass.
As the man takes a sip from it, we track it up to his lips.
We zoom out and remain at his head. He puts the glass down (out of camera view) and walks out of the frame. (Blur effects)
Cut to: MCU of an armchair, out of focus.
(blur effects back in) and the man takes a seat, grabs a remote and turns on the TV.
Cut to: ECU of the man pressing the power button on the remote.
Cut to: CU of the TV coming to life with static and snow… (fade to black)
We hear a crescendo guitar chord as we Fade in to see a close up of News reporter on TV. "Breaking news" is on the bottom. We don’t hear anything but a low dark tone.
Cut to: The man on the chair leans forward eyes wide open in shock.
Cut to: Fast rhythmic drumbeat…
The man races to the phone, tries to call someone. This is all blended into a montage, using quick cuts to emphasize his distress.
He throws the phone across the room, drops into a corner and weeps. We zoom right in on his eye as total silence ensures… We hear twisting metal, and explosions as we quickly zoom out and fade to white.
